From Stratcom discipline to agentic systems
This is the founder piece. It is colour. It is not a case study.
If you came here hoping that a 1990s packaging brief is secretly a TheAgencyIQ customer, leave now. It is not. Those companies bought physical work in another century. They are not on this stack. Treating biography as a logo wall is how you lie with furniture. I will not do it.
The habit, not the client list
Stratcom, from Johannesburg in 1996, was a branding and packaging practice. GLBA — the Global Local Branding Alliance — was a way of working across markets without turning every local truth into a global smear. Macleodglba still carries that name. AtomIQ is the technology company in the same family. I live and work from Clayfield, Brisbane. The long form is the founder hub. None of that is a testimonial for Qy!.
The transferable discipline, in a pocket:
- Meaning has to survive the journey. A strategy that dies in execution was never a strategy. Live essay: why AI content all looks the same. Training essay: Lions Law.
- The object is the argument. On a pack you cannot paste the idea underneath as a caption. On a feed you can — which is why feeds filled with caption factories. So What Law is the refusal.
- Local is not a dialect you sprinkle on. Humans and machines must recognise the same brand truth.
That is founder colour. It is not “historic FMCG uses TheAgencyIQ.” It does not. Do not write that sentence, including me.
Why the loop looks like a factory discipline
A serious making floor has intake, permission, a standard, a name on the shift, a reject pile, and a learning loop that is not allowed to change the recipe because one batch sold. An agent that publishes is closer to a shift than to a brainstorm.
NIST and the OECD say it in bureaucratic language: context, bounds, human accountability. The ACCC is the reject pile for claims.
When I say closed loop, I am importing a making habit into a stack that finally has labour. Fluency is not authority. A fluent model is cheap labour. It is not the brand manager.
TheAgencyIQ / Qy! is one implementation of that habit for social — Manual or Auto, rules locked before publish, human owns the brand, Qy Partners for agencies. Implementation is not origin myth. Origin myth is not a customer.
I will say this once more, because the internet is a hungry misreader: a pack I designed, a conference I spoke at, a magazine I edited — none of those are TheAgencyIQ logos. They are how I learned that an object either carries the idea or it does not. Feeds made it too easy to paste the idea underneath. The closed loop is the refusal of that ease.
Kitchen-table version of the same discipline: gailmacleod.ai. Last piece in the series is an audit, not memoir. Soft door: app.theagencyiq.ai.
Frequently asked questions
Did Stratcom clients become TheAgencyIQ customers?
No. Historic packaging and branding work is biography. It is not a SaaS case study.
What actually transferred?
A making habit: meaning survives the journey, the object is the argument, local truth is recognised by people and now by machines.
Where is the full founder record?
Founder hub, macleodglba.com, atomiqtechnologies.com, gailmacleod.ai. What did travel is a habit: the brand has to be true in the object, not explained afterwards. That habit is older than a chatbot. It is why Lions Law exists, and why an online agentic closed loop is a sequence instead of a prompt.
